Boxeo Telemundo, Titulares y Más and Premier League Will Feature Special Coverage Starting Thursday, March 5

Miami, FL March 4, 2020 In celebration of International Women's Day on March 8, Telemundo Deportes will present special multiplatform coverage highlighting women who have made their mark in sports, starting this Thursday, March 5. Programming will feature stories around female athletes and special segments celebrating women in sports during Premier League coverage, Boxeo Telemundo, Titulares y Más and across Telemundo Deportes digital platforms.

The special programming begins this Thursday, March 5 across Telemundo Deportes’ social platforms Twitter, Instagram and Facebook featuring four special short-form segments that highlight women in sports and their legacy, those athletes who have earned world records in their sports, and those who are mothers, professional athletes and champions. On Sunday, a special “Fútbol sin Filtro” episode will spotlight 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup champion and team USA captain, Megan Rapinoe.

Boxeo Telemundo returns this Friday at 11:30 p.m. on Telemundo and the Telemundo Deportes app with a special undercard event featuring two Mexican female fighters in the mini flyweight category as back-to- back winner Ana Laura “La Bonita” Reyes, who debuted in 2015, squares off against Joselyn “Iskra” Casilla (4-1 3 KOs), live from Mexico City.

Zona Mixta TYM, Telemundo Deportes’ flagship weekend sports and entertainment studio show that airs Saturday and Sunday at 11pm ET, will present segments highlighting a variety of topics around women in sports, including a one-on-one with two-time BMX Olympic Gold medalist Mariana Pajón from Colombia who won her first national title at five years old.

World renowned sports mentee Paola Kuri will make her guest appearance on Telemundo Deportes’ Titulares y Más on Monday, March 9. The soccer innovator has been a driving force behind female sports growth in Mexico and was instrumental in the development of the all-women LigaMX.

In addition, this weekend's Premier League on Sunday that will feature Manchester United vs. Manchester City will incorporate a special segment dedicated to the influence that women have in the league, from the field, to the stands and the teams, including PL’s only female referee, Sian Louise Massey-Ellis and Delia Smith, majority owner of the Norwich City club.

Telemundo Deportes’ specials are part of Telemundo’s “Mujeres Imparables” (Unstoppable Women) initiative dedicated to celebrating the achievement of women in all aspects of life and championing their advancement at every level.
