WBC Latino Champion Mauricio "Trompas" Pintor Defends His Title Against Edson "Buba" Ramirez in a 10-Round Event Live on Telemundo at 11:35 p.m. ET
Miami – July 23, 2019 – “Boxeo Telemundo,” the #1 Spanish-language boxing program in the U.S., continues this Friday, July 26 at 11:35 p.m. on Telemundo, featuring two welterweight fighters from Mexico City as WBC Latino champion Mauricio “Trompas" Pintor (21-3-1 13 KO's) defends his title in a 10-round bout against crosstown rival Edson "Buba" Ramirez (18-3 8 KO's), live from the Blackberry Auditorium.
“Boxeo Telemundo” commentators René Giraldo and Edgar López will call the action alongside World Boxing Champion and former Olympian Abner Mares. The show will continue its 30th anniversary celebration with special segments that look back at the best moments of the show.
The action will also be available via live stream on Telemundo Deportes En Vivo app with additional extensive news and content on TelemundoDeportes.com and social media platforms using hashtag #BoxeoTelemundo.
Mauricio "Trompas" Pintor returns to Boxeo Telemundo after beating Deigo "Demoledor" Cruz last March, earning him his 2nd WBC Latino belt in different categories (Jr welterweight & welterweight). Prior to his bout in March, "Trompas" Pintor was inactive for two years but has decided to reclaim his career and continue his families legacy, as he is the nephew of the great Hall of Famer Lupe Pintor.
Edson "Buba" Ramirez is looking to bounce back from an overseas defeat, losing a decision to former world champion Anthony Crolla. Ramirez will be making his U.S TV debut and will look to win his first regional belt.
Other bouts on the card feature the young, hard hitting Ernesto Saucedo Ortega (6-0 6 KO's) of Mexico City squaring off against Eric Andres Cruz(4-5) in 6 round bout; Lightweight Omar Solano(8-3) facing Jorge Anhuar Batalla (3-2) over 6 rounds; and light flyweight Ivan Garcia (3-0) battling against Emiliano Hernandez Garcia (1-2).
“Boxeo Telemundo’s” summer series ends next Friday, August 2 in Kissimmee, FL when Puerto Rican sensation, WBO #10 Jr. welterweight prospect Yomar "The Magic" Alamo (16-0 12 KO's) puts his NABO Title on the line, as he faces Jamay, Jalisco's Miguel Angel "Conejo" Martinez (15-2-1 9 KO's).
