Mac Budill serves as President of NBCUniversal Networks Distribution in NBCUniversal’s Content Distribution Group. Budill’s oversight includes distribution strategy and deal execution of the company’s cable and broadcast network portfolio in the U.S. and Canada, comprised of Bravo, CNBC, E!, Golf Channel, MSNBC, NBCSN, Oxygen, The Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA, Syfy, Universal Kids, UNIVERSO, USA Network and NBC Sports’ regional sports networks. Budill also leads retransmission consent agreements for NBC and Telemundo Owned Stations.
Budill reports to Matt Bond, Chairman of NBCUniversal’s Content Distribution Group, and oversees NBCUniversal’s Content Distribution Sales and Partner Marketing teams.
Budill is an established industry leader with a record of executing strategic agreements for NBCUniversal’s networks with cable, satellite and telco distribution partners, including Altice, AT&T DirecTV, Charter Spectrum, Cox, Dish Network, NCTC, Verizon Fios and more. Budill also heads NBCUniversal’s distribution of the company’s network portfolio to linear streaming digital platforms including DirecTV Now, Fubo, Hulu, Sling, Sony PlayStation Vue, and YouTube TV.
Budill’s expansive programming background includes more than 20 years in the Cable & Communications Division of the Cablevision Systems Corporation where he served as Executive Vice President, Programming. In that capacity, he was responsible for leading all content acquisition activities for the business and oversaw licensing for linear channels, On Demand, and TV Everywhere rights.
Prior to Cablevision, Budill served as a consultant for Bain & Company where he focused on strategic, operational and organizational problem solving.
Widely recognized as an industry leader, Budill is regularly included in the in the “Cablefax 100,” and was proud to have his team recently recognized as the Cablefax Sales Team of the year.
Budill holds an MBA from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Yale College. He lives in Larchmont, New York.
